CFRA Radio Host Wants to Toss PC MPP’s After They March in Toronto Pride Parade by Jamie Gilcig – JUNE 28, 2015

CFRA is a pretty staunch conservative talk radio station, still on the AM dial, in Ottawa, Canada’s Capital.  It’s a mostly senior audience with a lot of folks from the country and rural areas sharing their um…..wisdom.

One of their hosts is Nick Vandergragt who besides being a farmer does a passable job as a talk show host.  He does however have a penchant for veering to the right of Attila the Hun.

His inner ignorance and  homophobia showed today on a facebook rant that he posted about MPP’s Lisa MacLeod and Jack MacLaren participating in a big Toronto Pride parade right after the US finally followed Canada’s lead and voted 5-4 in their Supreme Court to allow Gay Marriage.

Nick & Tammy FB

(Photo: Facebook – pictured with Anti-French signs politician Tammy Hart)

Nick V Rant facebook “If it where up to me, I would toss both of them out of the building over this and never let them back in.”

As ISIS is tossing gay men off of building the ugliness of that quote alone can not be mistaken.   It’s insidious.

While MPP MacLeod has not responded to our email query she did post regarding Nick’s post on Twitter.

Clearly the MPP’s along with PC leader Patrick Brown (who has not confirmed his own sexuality) seem to be having a good time in this twit pic.

Sounds as if Mr. Brown came out of the closet poor Mr. V would have to vote NDP…

Nick V Rant facebook 2

Geez Nick, I’d imagine several Klansmen share your sentiments on how some might react to their words…

Nick V Rant facebook 3

Sounds like Nick took those bonus courses from the Tim Hudak school on earning public trust and consensus?

Did Nick cross a line?  Will he be chastised by CFRA bosses or given Lowell Green’s upcoming morning slot?

Can an openly gay Conservative be leader of the party or even a MP or MPP?

When asked on facebook if the page where he commented would be pulled down Nick posted:

I have no intention of pulling this page. If I get canned for standing up and calling things as I see them, so be it.

Time for Harper MP Guy Lauzon to Not Run Canada Day in Cornwall & City Ad Boycott of Largest Media June 30, 2015

$
0
0

Oh Canada!   Tomorrow is July 1st.  Sadly you won’t see CFN participating in our local event that is about to be rained out (bad karma thanks to Guy) as our MP has hijacked Canada Festivities in our city.

Canada Day, above all days, should be inclusive and community building.  Sadly our MP runs the event as a stumping post for his own job and party.   That clearly isn’t how it should be done.

Likewise the City is spending your money buying Canada Day ads in most of the local media except CFN which is kinda nuts, poor business, and poor community development.

CFN has the largest audience, deepest reach and offers far better value than most of our competitors.

That’s not meant as a slur or slag to them.  We all do some things better than each other and all have our place and role in the community; even sleazy Todd Lihou & Bill Kingston, but when you’re spending the public’s purse it should be in the public’s best interest and not your own petty political machinations.

cfn june 29

CFN does what our competitors don’t do and that’s show raw logs and stats.   This month we set a new record with over 330GB of bandwidth used up by our amazing viewers which include some of these petty tyrants.

Who else can deliver over 2M pageviews in a month locally of which over 40% are from Cornwall??

Over half this community click at least once on CFN. Does it really make any sense that City Hall refuses to communicate to the residents of our city via that channel?

CFN has been running our Crazy Any Banner for $99 per month sale so it’s not exactly expensive to send that message out to the community.

The impact of this silly boycott impacts the community in the end as its tentacles reach out to city agencies, charities, and even businesses that depend on city contracts.  We’ve heard from a lot that are fearful of losing city cash if they didn’t pull their ads with us.

One local institution was actually afraid to have us do a profile on them.

Crazy!

Since I have been on the board of our public art gallery, of over 33 years, the city has cut the gallery’s funding to zero, refused to give us the pittance they were going to give to Lift Off and even defamed us when Liberal MP hopeful Bernadette Clement claimed she couldn’t support our governance after she had during all the previous years she’s been on council, a governance that was recently cleaned up by our board!

Crazier!

This is Cornwall in 2015.   While the last election started the clean up at City Hall clearly some of those remaining have not heeded the public’s clear wishes for change to the way things are done.

What do you think dear CFN viewers?  You can post your comments below and thanks for the clicks!

River Kings ink four players

July 8, 2015 — The Cornwall River Kings and General Manager Rick Lalonde have officially come to terms with four players for the upcoming season:

PETE K

Pete Karvouniaris: The former Cornwall Colts goaltender quickly became a fan favourite last season and was sensational in the playoffs vs. Sorel. The 25-year-old from Laval had a .917 save percentage in the seven-game series against the LNAH’s top regular season team.

Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux: The speedy winger was acquired from Saint-Georges late last season. In 10 regular season games with Cornwall, Larocque-Marcoux had eight points. The 23-year-old from Gatineau chipped in two goals and two assists in six playoff games for the River Kings. He is a graduate of the QMJHL and also played two seasons for the University of Ottawa in the CIS.

Francois Ouimet: In 20 games with Cornwall last season, Ouimet had six goals and eight assists. The 28-year-old winger added five points in the playoffs. Ouimet, who adds more speed to the River Kings crop of forwards, was acquired from Trois-Rivieres last season.

Michael Stinziani: The skilled Stinziani, acquired at last year’s deadline from Jonquiere, had four points in Cornwall’s playoff series last March. The 26-year-old winger had a combined 100 points in two seasons (2012-13 & 2013-14) with Quad City of the Central Hockey League. The Montreal native is also a graduate of the QMJHL.

More player signings will be announced in the coming weeks.

It’s Time For Artists To Step Up in Cornwall Ontario as TAG FUNDING Still in Crisis by Jamie Gilcig JULY 11, 2015

$
0
0

I’m not big on veneers.    Politicians live by them.   I’d rather be liked, or disliked, for whom I am than who I want people to see me as.

There’s been a certain irony to watch the hate and stupidity roll here in Cornwall of late.

We have the Bill & Todd show where these two alleged journalists don’t cover a conflict of interest application and then report on a court outcome.   It must be bizarre if you are one of the rare few who only read the Seaway News or Cornwall Newswatch and all of the sudden read a verdict?

Fame or infamy can be a plus and a negative.  It can bring out the worst in some that are jealous, or ignorant and stupid.  You become a target, for good and bad.

This week, mysteriously, after our fund raiser for TAG, Bill & Todd ran pieces about the Sylvie Lizotte lawsuit (after it being around for over a month).   For those of you that aren’t aware besides being your cute and cuddly editor of CFN I am also on the board of TAG Cornwall, invited to be there by Ms Lizotte herself after she came to me for help when the big mean Elaine MacDonald & Carilyne Hebert allegedly made Sylvie fear for her job.

There’s a double irony there as Sylvie is suing both myself and TAG prez Wyatt Walsh personally in her wrongful dismissal suit, but if I had wanted her gone why on earth would I have defended her up to and including sending Elaine an email asking if I needed to do an expose on what was going on under her watch while she herself was President of the Gallery?

TAG has board of director insurance.    It was renewed by our insurance company, in spite of this suit without our premium going up.  We consulted with an HR expert moving into this mess and he warned us that this sort of suit can happen no matter what the circumstances.   I expect justice to prevail clearly and loudly by the time this process is done.

When I’m at TAG I wear my TAG hat.   Sometimes it can be a strain, but I think I’ve done an amazing job of it.

In my years here in Cornwall I’ve supported the arts as best as I’ve been allowed to.   The politics of this wacky town have put up barriers to my involvement like many outsiders.   I championed saving the Port theatre where CFN had its 5th year anniversary for example.   Thanks to the Sylvain family it’s still here.

For over two decades people have talked about having an Arts Centre when they have had one all along, TAG Cornwall.

It can be debated, but it’s utterly insane and a waste of tax dollars to fund  another study for an Arts Centre when council has cut TAG’s funding to Zero and did a study in 1995 for this purpose of having an Arts Centre.  That’s 20 years ago.  Do you see any other Art Centre’s in this city?   Politicians love buying studies.  It saves them having to take positions.

The library costs us about $2,000,000 a year in overhead.   Is council prepared to spend nearly as much on the overhead of a new fancy building?  I doubt it.    Do you need a study to figure that out?    Does this city warrant a shiny new art centre?    While I’m sure some of our fine artists would agree, the reality is that in 2015 our art community and art economy simply aren’t strong enough.

And you can’t blame the politicians because frankly the arts groups themselves are their worst enemies from infighting among themselves to the shameless lack of support for TAG which they’ve allowed to be abused this year and its very survival put at risk.

What is an Arts Centre after all?  Is it bricks and mortar or is it the Artists themselves?  I would suggest the latter.

The community needs to rally around TAG and send a loud message.   I know when I step through the door at 168 Pitt Street I wear only one hat.  I wish others could do the same.

As for an arts centre I have a vision for that myself.    TAG’s board is entering an agreement to purchase our building.   We paid off its mortgage with our rent from the last twenty years so why not buy it ourselves so that Artists can have something for generations long after this board is gone?

We also would like to purchase the Port Theatre so that the building would be under the auspices of a charity and we would have access to more funding to insure its future.     In Cornwall we tend to destroy our history instead of cherish it.

This plan would put our Art Centre with one foot in historic le Village and one foot downtown.  It would double our gallery space and give us an auditorium that could show films and events including stage plays.

It would cost under $1 million dollars and its overheard would be substantially less than the Library’s.

Sometimes you have to live within your budget.  There’s nothing wrong with that.  Maybe one day Cornwall will be ready for a huge facility.  I’d love to see that, but today is no more that day than it was twenty years ago.

Next year is TAG’s 20th Anniversary in its current location.  How many other establishments can boast that on Pitt Street?

This is a reflection of our community and frankly it’s  not a good one.    Can you imagine Brockville treating a public gallery like this?   Volunteers from the community ponied up over $200K to put the seats in their art centre.

Hugo Rodrigues wrote about the arts in his column today.

“Witness the decision – for whatever reasons – to strip The Art Gallery of Cornwall (TAG) of its remaining funding. The 2015 budget discussion over funding Your Arts Council centred on the money needed to pay its executive director, a position its board has reportedly terminated.

What happens to that money, if it’s been sent and spent, is a question council should ask.

Every person interested in the arts in Cornwall then sat back painfully watched as without any discussion at all, council continued an unneeded, $22,000-a-season ice time subsidy to a successful junior A hockey team.”

He makes some strong points in his piece, but honestly we don’t need studies right now.  We need artists themselves to step up.

Right now we waste money on Aultsville Theatre which essentially is the auditorium for St. Lawrence College.  It owns no real estate and offers no services for free to the public.  It’s expensive to rent to the point that local promoters complain that it’s more expensive than renting in Brockville or Ottawa even.

We give even more than the $100K per year to AT to the Woodhouse Musueum which is open even less hours than TAG which is in crisis mode.    This is the abuse of the public purse that council must be held accountable for.   Again it’s up to Artists to demand support of the Arts.

TAG has a new charter, a new membership structure, a clear vision, and more importantly open doors to all artists that truly want to focus on their art and this community.   I think that deserves support from Artists and City Hall.

Public Art Galleries are not meant to be self sustainable because the work they do is not geared to do so anymore than the Benson Centre is meant to be self sustainable or the library.

TAG sadly is preparing to do a National fund raising campaign as we need to replace the money that the city has slashed from us.  As a board member my responsibility is to do my best to give care to TAG and that requires funding.    That campaign would not reflect well on this community and especially our council.   To me it’s insane which is why we’ve delayed implementing it a few times as we hope some wiser minds will prevail.

There are councilors that ran on their support of the Arts, like Bernadette Clement who now wants to be your MP, that need to step up and put their money where their mouth is.

To reach council you can email them at councillors@cornwall.ca

So I Defended Cornwall City Councilor Brock Frost – Who Do You Think Has Done the Best Job so Far? by Jamie Gilcig

CORNWALL Ontario – I love car rides.    You can have the strangest and oddest chats, especially if your passenger is kinda smart.

Thursday we snuck out to Ottawa for a T&T run.   T&T is an Asian grocery chain and I always enjoy visiting them.

So on the way home, while nibbling on some Sushi and duck the conversation turned to Cornwall politics and my car mate suggested that she still thought that Guy St. Jean would have made a better councilor, at least better than Brock Frost.   After all essentially St. Jean set up a business in South Stormont, ran for council in Cornwall, and when he didn’t win flouted off to Florida and closed shop!

Now Frost is a proven liar, allegedly a real estate fraudster, maker up of stories like suggesting I’d made horrific sexual advances on his person while still buying an ad at said meeting and sponsoring our 5th Anniversary event at the Port shortly after, but is he a good councilor?

“The Charges they are true.   I’m defending them vigoursly.  I have pled guilty.”

That last part of the quote may have been a Freudian slip by Councilor Frost?

Well the easy is answer is no, but St. Jean had already proven to be very susceptible for changing his mind like the wind based on outside influences.   That’s really scary.

We vote for leadership when we vote for elected officials yet all that leadership they huff and puff about during election races seems to disappear into the “let’s hire a consultant” phase if elected.

Would you really want someone who could be easily swayed as an elected official or someone who took a clear position and worked for their vision?

Frost oddly enough has shown more vision and leadership this term than any other single member of council including the mayor.  Can you name some issues championed by others?   Justin Towndale has tried to do a bit, but Brock has been a busy cowboy.   What he lacks in honesty and integrity he makes up for in yippy kay yay.

Now that doesn’t mean he’s doing a good job or that his vision makes much sense, but do we really need ten councilors and a mayor that do very little other than muck things up and canvas for bodies that they happen to sit on or shut down family ice rinks at Christmas?

Is that leadership?

That Mr. Frost looks “good” next to this failed circus of a council is not something to be especially proud of.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

It should be a bell ringing event that causes the public to show concern because at the end of the day we pay the bill for the nonsense this group writes the cheques for.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Leadership for example would be standing up in Council and/or issuing a release suggesting that Mr. Frost should take a leave of absence until his legal wranglings are sorted out, especially as he’s finally admitted to the Quebec police matter, and if he refused to strip him of all committees he’s on.

After all, if someone were charged, not convicted, but charged, of any instance with children would they still be allowed to work with them?   Should Mr. Frost have access to certain private City info with fraud and possible criminal convictions hanging over his and the city’s head?

What do you think dear CFN viewers?  You can vote in our poll and post your comment below.

River Kings unveil new logo

CORNWALL Ontario –  The lion has left town and the Cornwall River Kings will sport a new look when the 2015-16 season kicks off this fall. The team has unveiled a new logo today:

“I think everyone needed a fresh new look to the team,” said owner Steve Moreau. “The old logo left a sour taste behind due to the politics which surrounded it.”

Although the previous logo was decent, most fans didn’t want to be reminded of the trials of the past any longer. With this in mind, Moreau decided to make the change to something which matches the name of the team a little more.

What is a River King?

“A River King was a Lumberjack, a log runner, the guy who jumps from log to log while riding down the current of a river. A tough guy who could take a beating and still get up for more. A guy who didn’t give up because of challenges. This logo represents just that. A tough River King holding a hockey stick,” said Moreau.

While the River Kings will once again have a new look on the ice, players will return to Cornwall with the same owner in place as the previous season. This is a first in franchise history as the River Kings enter Year 4.

There is finally stability, consistency and organization in the office, which is key to any successful business according to Moreau. Now, the LNAH franchise is focused on building the team both on and off the ice.

“When people have a sense of stability they work without the fear of uncertainty and deliver a higher quality product,” said Moreau. “This is one of the key factors to what this team needed.”

Season tickets are now on sale at the River Kings office in the Civic Complex. Pricing is as follows:
Adults $250; Seniors/Students $200; Children under 12 $140.

The one consistent when I’ve entertained offers to purchase CFN these past three years has been the request that I remain in some capacity with the paper.    The negotiations that have commenced this week are no different in that aspect.

The one big difference was that Cornwall be dropped.    The non local buyer wants our market share, especially regionally, but see the entire Cornwall brand as something that is not marketable.

In the past I’d been asked to move CFN to either Montreal or Ottawa and I immediately refused.    The whole reason for starting CFN was to see if something amazing could be started organically in Cornwall.     I was proven right.   Sadly, like someone needing a kidney and then rejecting a life saving organ, corruption and the culture of Cornwall, while fascinating to watch, has not been terribly profitable and at times has been downright frightening.

Xenophobia, racism, cronyism, ignorance, bullying and a lack of support of merit and justice just isn’t the greatest platform to build on.

When City Hall not only refused to support our contest where people would write in about how amazing Cornwall is, but called posting links to it on their facebook page a “security risk” the circus has never been less entertaining to readers.

People liked watching Honey Boo Boo, but would they want to be related to that family or become their neighbors?

Sadly people like Bob Peters, Denis Thibault,  Kevin Hargreaves, Gilles Latour, Guy Lauzon, Eric Duncan, Elaine MacDonald, Carilyne Hebert, David Murphy, Gerry Benson, Roy Perkins, Leslie O’Shaughnessy, Jim McDonell, and so many others have created this dynamic that the more I write about their antics and their many many failings the more people click on our pages.

While that amassed to over 2,000,000 page views it’s simply not a lot of fun to write about.    It’s not why I started CFN.

In 2009, after being rejected by two media outlets that I’d applied to work for,  I decided that there was a need for an online newspaper.    I took elements of what I’d seen as successful media outlets online and mixed in what I saw as successful locally.   The original concept for CFN was to be an Canadian flavoured hybrid between Huffpo & Perez Hilton.

We switched to our current server in 2010.

CFN June 2010 numbers

And that worked.  Within two years CFN was number one in this marketplace, and the only one that will print raw numbers like the image just below and above.   As you can see we’ve come a long way in those five years. (Pages in 2010 included non-human – in 2015 the page views are only of human viewed)

CFN June 2015 numbersSuccess in a culture like this though, especially when you’re an outsider is never a safe proposition.   We’ve seen other media created to challenge CFN and “take us down” , but we compete at a regional, if not National level.

Sadly because of the boycott led by the City and its tentacles our resources have been diminished to the point where it feels like I only write about their antics.

So when that offer to sell came in last week I agreed to a meeting and I agreed that dropping Cornwall was on the menu, especially as I wouldn’t have to move.

For that to happen that would be a huge slap to the future of our community and our ability to attract talent and business to Cornwall.    You don’t have to take my word for it.  Ask any expert in the field.   And that blame if that happens lies at the feet of our Economic Development Department, City Hall, and the United Counties.

An example of the weirdness of this market is our $99 banner sale.   For only $99+HST per month you get any sized banner on CFN.  Based on our traffic for June, if the Seaway News could match our total traffic, that same banner would cost about $50,000 based on their online rate of $29,95 per 1,000 impressions.    Isn’t that crazy?   Could you imagine the economic impact if there was no boycott?

Look at the arts in Cornwall.   Promoters complain that people won’t attend events in Cornwall.   Artists complain that the bars and promoters don’t support their events, venues complain that people don’t come out.  It’s a cycle down the drain which is why so many acts stop at Brockville and we rarely see big shows in our city.

Now we’ve had some great acts use CFN advertising with great results yet Robin McCrae of Shantero, Jeff Brunet, and yes even Rodney Rivette won’t pay to advertise their shows on CFN unless we’re sponsoring (IE freebies).  Is there any wonder why our events are so mediocre?

No one media outlet is a sole solution in this market.    I’ve sent clients to other places to advertise because the better our clients do overall the more money they have to market with us and the better for the community.  I have no idea why so many in Cornwall and the area think the way they do other than those that live off tax dollars, like government agencies who tend to advertise the most and throw their weight around?

There are no easy solutions, but the status quo will never lead to growth.

Canadians Best Not to Bring Medical Marijuana Into the US While Visiting by Jamie Gilcig – JULY 14, 2015

CORNWALL Ontario – So you drive up to US customs heading to your camp over in New York State for the weekend.

The Customs & Border Protection Officer asks you the usual questions and then one for the first time.

“Do you have any medical marijuana travelling into the US?”

That led me to ask CBP Public Affairs Specialist Shelbe Benson-Fuller how the US is now handling Medical Marijuana as opposed to other illegal drugs such as Cocaine?

“As you know, more and more states are legalizing marijuana in the U.S. and I believe that Canada has recently done this as well. While marijuana may be legal in certain areas, it is not federally recognized in the United States.

Marijuana is still a prohibited controlled substance (Schedule I) and as such is liable to seizure and its possessor is amenable to arrest or fines.

As such, CBP officers ask various questions to ensure that the person or persons entering the country don’t pose a threat to the public, won’t add to the illegal immigrant population or won’t introduce illegal contraband.”

I asked her to clarify the scenario as best as she could. In the US marijuana is now legal for not only Medical use, but recreational use as well as in the State of Colorado.

“While each incident is treated different since many variables play into it, ie, criminal background, priors seizures, etc, normally, if the individual doesn’t have anything prior and background clear, the marijuana is simply seized and it is explained to the individual why it is seized and they are free to leave.”

So if you’re considering a weekend getaway in NY or states that don’t have Marijuana laws at this time it’s best to leave your “medicine” at home.

Confederate Flag & Brock Frost Show Cornwall Culture by Jamie Gilcig JULY 17, 2015 #cnwpoli #circus

CORNWALL Ontario – What an odd week in Cornwall.  First photog Robert Rusaw gets a million dollars worth of news coverage for the Ottawa Bluesfest after deciding Confederate Flag shorts are a fashion statement.

The photog was snapped and became a news story and topic of discussion for thousands including a local facebook hate group run by a convicted criminal pictured below wearing, you guessed it, a Confederate flag cap.

dockery rebel flag

The criminal also defended Rusaw and also had the flag waving on his mobile home in Bonville at one point.

crowder nazi flag

Mike Crowder, who was fired for leaking medical info at the hospital he worked for while Mike Duffy was a patient, has no problem with flying a Nazi flag, but darn those neighbors that run their lawn mowers at 11AM while he’s sleeping.

The first incarnation of the group was taken down for racism only to be rebooted by its founder within 24 hours.

Oddly enough Bernadette Clement’s(a visible minority herself)  riding association president, Jamie Labonte is an active member of the group.

I’m sure it must make Justin Trudeau proud.

The argument defending the Confederate flag is a really silly one.   I get that people don’t like to be told what to wear or do, but in this world there are things that become symbols for hate and evil.    They really are.    The Swasika was not invented by the Nazi’s, but they sure own the brand.   It is the ideals around some of these icons that inspire the weak and stupid, the sad cases where desperate people do desperate things after being inspired by such hate and evil.

Mr. Rusaw and his supporters clearly are not apologetic regarding his action or the flag with one member citing “conservative and country” idealism.

Now that’s a group that could be used to inspire tourism and economic development.

Brock Frost Council DEC 8 2014Now to our good Councilor Robert Brock Frost.   I won’t show the video he’s launched as other media outlets have because frankly I don’t wish to give him the exposure of CFN’s audience.

Arson    British Spy

Extortion  Hells Angels

Money Laundering  Illegitimate Father

Insurance Fraud  Tax Evasion

Embezzlement STD’s

Cocaine Dealer  Cocaine Smuggler

Human Trafficker Statutory Rape

Election Tampering Election Fraud

Fugitive Bankrupt

Drug Addict Loan Shark

Ex Con False identity

Brock in his video says that these are what people have said about him and more.    He deserves an award for having such a diversity of alleged sins.

What we do know is that Councilor Frost is a convicted criminal for his DUI.

We do no that his criminal lawyer offered Al Hatset, a real estate victim of his, a deal to settle a Nicaraguan Real Estate Deal.

We do know that he’s consistently lied about his affairs and admitted such lies such as his Quebec charges.

Mr. Frost at this point shouldn’t illicit much sympathy; yet here he is wanting to become the poster boy for victims of lies when he himself has participated and perpetuated such defamation.

He did in fact issue a press release for example stating that this writer made sexual advances so horrific that he couldn’t repeat them.   He failed to mention that at that meeting at the Grind he still bought a large ad deal and shortly after sponsored our 5th Anniversary event at CFN which he also appeared at and was captured on video.

He also lied about me showing up to council with a group to “beat him up” and then show up at his house.

Luckily for myself the police this time didn’t charge me, but a Justice of the Peace did grant him a hearing to gain a restraining order which was subsequently dropped and never enforced although I did have a drug officer lean on me to not do my job as a journalist and ask Mr. Frost questions via email as well as the court costs in defending the ridiculous claims.   (The gang btw was a retired CBSA officer, a minister attending council, and Rodney Rivette)

While his facebook friends like Gilles Latour, Sue Stewart, & Kevin Hargreaves may stand behind Mr. Frost what he has clearly done is not something that should illicit him any sympathy.    I mean if you can’t take the heat you get out of the kitchen, right?  Or move to Ottawa…

Brock Frost sponsoring a group for victims of defamation is like a rapist sponsoring a women’s shelter.

It’s an insult to the true victims of what goes on on the wild web in 2015.

This all comes down to the Cornwall brand and what we send as a message to the outside world.

Not one councilor or the mayor has asked Mr. Frost to step aside until his legal wranglings are cleared up.

Not one councilor or the mayor have demanded that Mr. Frost be stripped of his committees until he’s cleared.

It’s really odd how someone like Frost is still publicly supported after the things he clearly has done or how he amassed over 4,000 votes in the municipal election.  At this pace he’ll be mayor in 2018…..

Final note.  I like Dan Allaire, but what he wrote on the radio station’s website shows the Cornwall Culture and what needs to change.

“Let’s look forward. Let’s get back to the task at hand, let’s deal with city issues and ideas to improve this great city we live in. This video could have been just that…letting the constituents who voted for him know that he is committed and is ready to get back to work and put all that behind him.”

Dan the only way to move forward is to hold people accountable for the wrongs and send the right message to the community.   People have to know that there is some price to pay for behaving like Brock Frost.
